No, I don’t need new cowboy boots for C2C festival. And yes, I have known the peril of wearing not yet worn-in boots to an all-day standing event.
But – I say to the dull, rational voice in my head reminding me of the five existing pairs of cowboy boots behind the bedroom door – here are two reasons that maybe I should add to my collection.
One: there are a couple of new online western fashion boutiques right here in the UK and it would be rude not to support their business endeavours. Use them or lose them.
Two: Last winter’s Western trend takeover of the high street means now, at the change of season, loads of stunning styles are reduced. So it’s practically saving money.
The rational part of my brain is not entirely convinced, but maybe you do need (or really want) some new boots. In which case here are five of my favourites out in UK shops right now.
Brayden Boots (Free People)
Truly a boot for everyone, the Brayden boots come in a huge range of colours or pattenrs and in both ankle and mid-calf height.
Brayden Tall from £129 or Brayden Ankle from £248
Contrast boots (Zara)
Not your every day pair, these bold contrast boots with either fierce flames or black or white cactus versions suit those wanting to make a statement at thier next festival.
Contrast Flames design £79, Cactus in white £99 or Cactus in Black
Classic Bird Boot (Jessie Western)
This Notting Hill boutique was ‘country when country wasn’t cool’ and has long been the go to for magazine shoots and fashionistas seeking one off, hand-made boots.
Mi.iM Delicate Vegan Day Boots (Melbelle)
Beautiful, timeless boots in a suede-like pinke-tinged neutral to take you from office to gig to, or, anywhere. They’re stocked by a UK boutique with impeccible taste.
Rhinestone Ankle Boots (Bluebird Boutique)
New online store from a country fan importing goods which scream “country fan and proud”, like this embellished pair first spotted founder Rebecca spotted on a trip to Las Vegas.
