Long Road Festival: 12 Acts to See or Run Around Trying

Unfortunately, we haven’t progressed very far with our ‘see-two-acts-at-once’ cloning device … probably because we’ve spent most of our time trying to convince each other that “camping is fun”. So some quick footwork is going to be required to make the most of the plethora of entertainment on stage this weekend at The Long Road Fest.

Taking out our metaphorical highlighters, we’re circling the follow shows as “must see”. These are the ones we’ll be tripping over our boots to get to, even (shock, horror) splitting up if necessary.

Friday, 7 September

Case Hardin / Front Porch / 19.05 – 1945

The Wandering Hearts / Interstate Stage / 20:00 – 21:00

Elles Bailey / Front Porch / 21:25 – 22:05

Saturday, 8 September

Women in Country Songwriters Round / Honky Tonk /11:00 – 11:45

Yola Carter / Honky Tonk /14:25 – 14:55

Brent Cobb / Interstate Stage / 15:45 – 16:45

Lee Ann Womack / Interstate Stage / 19:15 – 20:45 (I know, I know … maybe the cloning device will be up and running by then …)

Aaron Watson / Rhinestone Stage / 20:45 – 22:15

Sunday, 9 September

Gary Quinn / Front Porch / 11:30 – 12:05

Angaleena Presley / Honky Tonk / 16:20 – 17:00

Charlie Worsham / Rhinestone Stage / 17:30 – 18:30

The Shires / Rhinestone Stage / 20:45 – 22:15

This is how our plan looks so far as long as a) we’re not distracted by the food, b) we’re not distracted by the bourbon, c) we’re not distracted by an awesome act we haven’t heard before, or d) we’re not distracted by telling each other “maybe, camping actually is fun”. Then of course we’ll be making time for a hula hoop workshop and wood whittling…

Who’s on your must-see list? Stage times are on the Long Road Fest app, available for download on iphone or android now.

Happy planning!
